How do I block someone?

Learn how to block a person during a call with the # key, or later from a profile or your call history.

You can block anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable. You do not need a big reason. It is your space.

During a call: press

Press the # (hash) key at any time on your phone. It does three things at once:

  1. It ends the call.
  2. It blocks the other person.
  3. It reports the incident to our team.

Use this if the other person is rude, pushes you, asks for money, or just makes you feel unsafe. You never owe an explanation for hanging up.

Priya is on a call. The caller starts pushing her to share her WhatsApp number. She presses #. The call ends, he is blocked, and it is reported. She did nothing more.

After a call: block from profile or history

You can also block someone later:

  • From the person’s profile.
  • From your call history.

This is useful if you felt fine at the time, but you do not want to talk to that person again.

What blocking does

  • The person is blocked from contacting you.
  • Neither of you ever sees the other’s personal phone number. This stays true after blocking.

If the person broke a rule, blocking is not enough on its own. Please also report them, so our team can look at it.

Is blocking the same as reporting?

Not always. Pressing # blocks and reports. Blocking from a profile or call history stops contact. Use the report page when someone broke the rules and you want our team to review it.

Your safety tips

  • Do not share your full name, address, workplace, social media or bank details.
  • Number masking hides your number, but not what you say.
  • Never share your OTP or UPI PIN. We will never ask for them.
